About Dr. Constantinos Meggesides

Dr Constantinos Meggesides graduated from the Medical School of University of Leicester (United Kingdom) in 2011. Following this he worked as a Foundation and Core Medical Training Doctor in the National Health Service.

In 2018, he obtained the MRCP title and was admitted as a Royal College of Physicians member in the UK. He then continued his Cardiology specialization at Nicosia General Hospital from 2019 to 2023. His duties included active on-call responsibilities, patient admission and management, daily participation in medical ward rounds and decision-making for clinic patients, training in interventional cardiology and in the echocardiographic imaging department and practicing as the in-charge cardiologist of the Coronary Care Unit. Moreover, he was an active member of the intradepartmental education/teaching, organized the on-call rota of cardiology trainees and he participated in the annual Panhellenic Congress of Cardiology with multiple presentations.

During his training he went to St Bartholomew's Hospital in London as a Cardiac Imaging Fellow in the Cardiac Magnetic imaging department under the supervision of Professor Mark Westwood (Chairperson, EACVI Certification & Accreditation Committee). There he reported more than 300 MRI cases covering a wide range of conditions including common cardiomyopathies, valvular and vascular pathology, assessment for coronary artery disease, suspected cardiac masses, pericardial and congenital heart disease.

He is a dedicated Cardiology Specialist who aims to ensure patient access to high quality care within the GHS and strives to both prevent and treat cardiovascular diseases.
